Template library versions

Background

To support the growing complexity of projects and grid codes, we have created a new version of the template library which fully utilizes the latest features in gridmo such as:

  • Global subplots
  • Operating conditions
  • PSCAD™ only initialization
  • And more!

For new regions, templates will only be created in the new template library version.

For existing regions, the legacy version will be supported until all existing templates have been migrated to the latest version of the template library.

For existing regions which support both versions of the template library, we recommend using the new template library version.

We don’t recommend migrating existing/old projects

For existing projects, we recommend continue using the legacy template library version. If you would prefer to use the new template library version, you will need to complete the entire project setup process again in the new template library version. All of the existing features will continue to work.

Don’t mix template library versions for the same project

The new template library version is not backwards compatible. Therefore, please don’t mix flows using different template library versions.

Let us know if you need a template migrated to the new template library

We are still in the process of migrating some of the infrequently used templates. If there is a template where you would like us to prioritise the migration, please contact us.

How to view/change template library version

The template library version can be changed via project settings, as shown in the image below.
