Warning 168 | [PSCAD™] | Cannot find smiby block

Relevant software:

PSCAD™

Emitted message:

Could not find the 'smiby' block in the loaded PSCAD workspace. The smiby block is required for all gridmo features except for SET commands. Please ensure your PSCAD model contains a smiby block.

Description:

The gridmo Engine cannot find the 'smiby' block in the loaded PSCAD™ workspace. The smiby block is a special PSCAD™ component released by gridmo that enables advanced simulation features and control capabilities.

This warning occurs when your PSCAD™ model doesn't contain the required smiby block that gridmo uses for most of its functionality.

danger

The smiby block is essential for gridmo's PSCAD™ simulation capabilities. Without it, you'll be limited to basic parameter setting operations only.

Impact:

Without the smiby block, you can only use basic SET commands. The following gridmo Commands are not available:

  • Dynamic control commands (CONTROL)
  • Fault simulation (SIMPLEFAULT, VDISTURBANCE)
  • External grid controls (voltage, frequency and/or angle playback)
  • Transient overvoltage testing (TOVTEST)
  • Voltage oscillation testing (VOLT_OSCIL)
  • Output channels and monitoring built into smiby

Potential fixes:

If you only need SET commands:

If you only need to modify PSCAD™ parameters and don't require dynamic simulation features (for example, wide area PSCAD simulations), you can continue without the smiby block. However, most gridmo PSCAD™ simulations require the smiby block for full functionality.

Add the smiby block to your PSCAD™ model:

Follow the instructions in the smiby section of the gridmo documentation.
