Emitted message:

Specified object is out of service in the loaded power systems model.

Description:​

This warning indicates that a specified object (such as a bus, generator, line, etc.) has an OUTPUT command which is being used to export a value from this object, but the object is out of service in the loaded power systems model.

Possible impact:​

  • The value exported from this OUTPUT command will be set to NaN (Not a Number) - it may raise an error if it is used as an input to another power systems software package, for example, if it is used in a SET command in a connected PSCAD™ Node.

This warning can typically be safely ignored for Static Power Flow simulations which have several contingencies and output values to a Table Node.

Potential fixes:​

  • If this object should be in service for your simulation:
    • Modify your PSS®E or PowerFactory model to put the object in service before running the simulation - or alternatively use a SET, STATUS=IN command.
